TigerGraph Savanna Pricing FAQ

Pricing for TigerGraph Savanna is based on the virtual machine instance(s) and storage capacity you consume. Efficient data compression and parallel processing mean you’ll get a surprising amount of data storage and query performance out of each instance. TigerGraph works with leading cloud providers to use the most optimal compute nodes and storage services to maximize TigerGraph Savanna performance at the lowest cost to you.

What factors should I consider to calculate TigerGraph Savanna's Total Cost of Ownership?

TigerGraph Savanna lowers the cost of ownership in three ways: compressed data, more efficient computation, and elastic and independent scaling of storage and computation.

  • TigerGraph’s compression rate yields a graph data footprint smaller than the raw input data size. Other graph platforms often generate a stored graph that is larger than the raw input data
  • Savanna ingests data and runs queries up to 100x faster than other graph platforms. This translates either more modestly sized compute units or shorter times that resources need to be active.

Savanna’s separation of storage and compute, with fast deployment of tailored compute resources means you can optimize your spending by enabling exactly what you need and then pausing or decommissioning resources that aren’t needed. With these factors, TigerGraph Savanna is more cost-effective than other graph databases running in the cloud. Please see this independent benchmark report. For more TCO comparisons, please contact us.

How are services calculated and billed?

TigerGraph Savanna charges for three resources: storage, compute, and add-ons. Savanna doesn’t charge for data transfer at this time. The hourly rate depends on the resource type and the geographic region. Storage usage is checked every 10 minutes and prorated. Compute and add-on usage is measured from the time that you request to turn it on until the time it is fully off or terminated, measured with 1-minute granularity and prorated.

Storage is used to hold your graph data, metadata, and backup files; it is considered active if it is storing your data. It is fully elastic, adjusting to your actual usage.

A workspace is a managed unit of compute resources, which comprises CPU and memory. Your storage may have multiple workspaces attached to each. Each workspace can be assigned its own workload. The hourly rate for each workspace depends on its size and replication factor.

Our billing system will total the charges at the end of each calendar month, generate an itemized invoice, and charge your credit card.

What are the hourly rates for compute and storage services?

We have pricing tables and a handy cost estimator at the TigerGraph documentation website. Note that hourly rates may depend on the geographic region where you choose to deploy.

How do you charge for high availability replication?

High Availability (HA) on TigerGraph Savanna ensures your graph database remains operational even during disruptions. When HA is enabled, the price is calculated using a multiplier based on the size of your TigerGraph compute resource.

Compute Size Replication Factor Cost Multiplier
Sizes equal or below TG-8 3 2.8x
Sizes above TG-8 2 1.95x
How are add-ons priced?

TigerGraph Savanna offers a variety of add-ons to enhance your graph database experience. Each add-on is priced individually, allowing you to customize your TigerGraph Savanna environment to fit your specific needs and budget. Add-ons are billed monthly and can be added or removed at any time to provide maximum flexibility.

Add-On Scope Price
Insights Workspace 10% of the compute usage
GraphStudio™ Workspace Free
GraphQL Workspace Free
How do I pay for usage?

Before deleting any data we will make multiple efforts to contact you using the email address and phone number provided to us when you register. In any case, we will save the last backup of your instance for 30 days.

What happens if I delete my instance before the end of the month?

If you are subscribed to our standard hourly service, you will be charged only for your hours of use, as described above.

If I add an instance mid-month, when do I start paying for it?

We bill you and charge your credit card at the end of each calendar month.

How do I contact you if I have a billing problem that I can’t solve online?

You can either open a support ticket from the cloud portal by clicking “Support” on the menu at the left of the page, or you can send an email to [email protected].

What happens if my monthly costs exceed the credit limit on my credit card?
If this happens you can contact [email protected] and we will provide you with other payment options.
